Here is an except from the former Theatre Ontario Festival Guidelines that deals with copyright:
"The producing theatre group shall acquire licence to perform and pay necessary royalties for the play script used. Such permission must be submitted to the Theatre Ontario Community Theatre and Communications Manager and included in the Festival programme. The producing theatre group shall also exercise and demonstrate due diligence in securing permission from the copyright holder for any alterations made to the script, and to provide that permission to the Community Theatre and Communications Manager."
